Paradisus by Meliá

Nusa Dua's most family-forward resort. A family concierge on WhatsApp, a jet ski in the pool, s'mores on the beach, and the best breakfast in Bali. Honest review from a family of 7.

What We Loved

The moments that made this stay genuinely special for a big family.

🎪

Family Concierge Lounge

10/10 — WhatsApp access, dedicated team, snacks, chess, canapes, cocktails. A game-changer for big families.

🍫

Chocolate Fountain

The kids absolutely loved the chocolate fountain with marshmallow trees in the breakfast restaurant. A daily ritual.

🏄

Jet Ski in the Pool

A literal jet ski in the main pool. The kids gave this a solid 9/10 on its own.

🔥

S'mores on the Beach

Every evening at sunset — a beach bonfire with marshmallow sticks. One of our most magical family memories.

🍳

Best Breakfast in Bali

The Spanish restaurant breakfast is genuinely the best we've had in Bali. Extensive, beautiful, and the Paradisus butter is iconic.

🌊

Waterpark

A proper waterpark on-site. You could easily fill a week here without leaving the resort.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Staff

Genuinely among the warmest, most attentive staff we've encountered anywhere in Bali. Every single one.

🌴

Resort Grounds

Stunning tropical gardens, lily ponds, stepping stone paths, and a beachfront that glows at dusk.

The Family Concierge — 10/10

This is the feature that sets Paradisus apart from every other resort in Bali. A dedicated Family Concierge team available on WhatsApp — they handle everything from restaurant reservations to activity bookings to special requests, all before you even arrive at the desk.

The lounge itself is a haven — chess sets, snacks, canapes, cocktails, and a team who genuinely love families. The kids played chess with Steve while I had a cocktail. That's the Paradisus difference.

Neurodiverse families: The WhatsApp concierge is a genuine game-changer. You can pre-communicate your child's needs, request specific seating, ask about sensory-friendly activities, and get real-time support without having to navigate the front desk. This is the kind of service that makes travel feel possible.

S'mores on the Beach

Every evening at sunset, the resort sets up a beach bonfire with long marshmallow sticks. The whole family — all 8 of us — gathered around the fire as the sky turned pink and gold over Nusa Dua. This is the kind of moment you can't manufacture. It just happens.

The kids still talk about it. It cost nothing extra and was one of the highlights of the entire trip.

The Food

Genuinely some of the best resort dining we've experienced in Bali.

Canapes at the Family Concierge

Family Concierge Canapes

Beautifully presented afternoon canapes in the Family Concierge lounge — included with your stay.

Chocolate Fountain Breakfast

The Spanish restaurant breakfast is the best we've had in Bali. The chocolate fountain with marshmallow trees is a daily ritual for the kids.

Pizza station at family buffet

Family Buffet Dinner

Yummy but on the pricier side. We'd opt for all-inclusive next time, or check Luxury Escapes for food & beverage deals.

Honest Notes

We believe in honest reviews. Here's what you should know before booking.

Rooms connect via balcony only — not internal connecting doors. If you need internal access between rooms, confirm this before booking. We used sofa beds which were firm even with toppers.

Family buffet dinner is delicious but on the pricier side. Consider all-inclusive or check Luxury Escapes for food & beverage deals — they often have packages here.

We paid approximately AUD $1,500 for 2 nights in 2 rooms — excellent value for the level of resort and the family experience delivered.

Bottom line: If the beds were more comfortable, this would be one of our best stays ever. The family concierge, the activities, the food, the staff, the grounds — all exceptional. We'd absolutely return, and we'd request firmer mattresses in advance.

🧠

Neurodiverse Families — This One's For You

The Family Concierge WhatsApp service is one of the most neurodiverse-friendly features we've encountered at any resort. Pre-communicate your child's needs before arrival, get real-time support during your stay, and avoid the overwhelm of navigating a busy front desk. The team is warm, patient, and genuinely invested in your family's experience.
